Journey Jotter Books, LLC works with the following third parties who process your data:

  • Shopify
  • MailChimp (for subscribers to the mailing list)
  • PayPal (for customers choosing to use PayPal to check out)
  • USPS (shipping provider)

 Use of Personal Data

  • When visiting this site, your IP address is collected; this helps to prevent fraudulent orders and to improve site responsiveness and performance.
  • When ordering, this site collects your name, billing address, shipping address (if different), phone number (if you choose to provide it), email address, and payment information. If you choose to create a customer account with Journey Jotter Books (this is optional and password-protected), the site will store your identifying information such as name, address(es), and contact information, and will auto-fill some fields for you on subsequent orders. It will also store your order history with Journey Jotter Books and current order status. Whether choosing to create a customer account or not, the collection of information described above is used to communicate with you about your order if necessary, fulfill your order, and ship it to you. I do not sell this information, and I provide it only to those third parties described above for the express purpose of order fulfillment. This site does not learn or store your credit card and payment information; Journey Jotter Books instead partners with Shopify Payments and PayPal to process and store this data in compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).
  • If you should choose to subscribe to the Journey Jotter Books mailing list, you are providing your name and email address, along with explicit and separate statements of consent to: 1) have this personal data collected and stored by MailChimp for the purposes of receiving the mailing list; and 2) receive emails from Journey Jotter Books, in which I provide updates and solicit feedback on Journey Jotter Books products, offer discounts on occasion, and deliver some family travel-related content free of charge. This list is hosted by the third party MailChimp. I do not sell or provide your information to any other third party. Your consent enables me to see which Journey Jotter Books emails you open and/or read, and to determine which content is most useful to you. After providing your name and email address, and checking the appropriate boxes to give your consent, you must then verify your consent by opening your initial email from Journey Jotter Books and clicking on the button to confirm that you wish to subscribe to the mailing list.
